This weekend at Dewslake Farm we are looking forward to an evening of alfresco festing with the lovely Slow Pig.
A regular addition to the campsite field during the summer, Slow Pig keep the campers well fed with delicious food made exclusively with meat from their own farm. Bangers and mash, tagine, pulled pork or a somehing else equally tasty in the evening (every night is different) provide a welcome break from the traditional camp BBQ and there’s nothing like a hot breakfast wrap in the morning to start the day before heading to the beach.
This Saturday the 8th of August will be a little different. A delicious feast awaits campers and visitors alike. The menu is a tapas style extravagansa with almost all the ingredients raised, caught or harvested within a five mile radius. The meat is reared on the Slow Pig farm. Salad, herbs and vegetables are grown either in the garden here at Dewslake, or at Lamphey Walled Garden, literally just across the road. The honey is made by Michelle’s brother’s bees. The mackerel, that might just be caught by friends, inside five miles, not telling where…
It will be a fun, relaxed evening and we’ll be dining outside, weather permitting. Bring your own wine and a blanket, we hope to see you on Saturday!
Camping is available or if your local your very welcome to visit for the evening and head home to your own bed after a glorious feast. There will be brunch on the Sunday, including the likes of pork hash with fried duck egg, breakfast wraps and fresh coffee & juices.
